Jacking & Skidding System Singapore
For shifting cargo in places with low ceilings, confined spaces, or other locations where trailers and cranes cannot be utilised, Yew Choon's jacking and skidding system provides a precise and controlled alternative.
Our skidding system moves heavy equipment along a fixed track using hydraulic jacks and skid shoes, allowing centimetre-level positioning accuracy without the need for cranes or conventional trailers.
We operate two types of skidding systems, selected according to the weight and nature of the cargo being moved.
Light Duty System
Up to 250 Tons
Heavy Duty System
Up to 2,600 Tons
With the heavy duty skidding system, cargo is pushed by hydraulic pushing jacks into position along the skid track, allowing controlled and gradual movement of extremely heavy loads.

When to Use a Skidding System
- Indoor areas with low ceiling clearance
- Confined plant rooms or basements inaccessible to cranes
- Precise final positioning of heavy machinery or vessels
- Module installation in petrochemical and power plants
- Shipyard block and module skidding operations
- Repositioning equipment without lifting
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a skidding system used for?
A skidding system is used to move very heavy equipment or structures horizontally along a fixed track, typically in spaces where cranes or trailers cannot operate due to height or space restrictions.
What is the maximum capacity of your skidding system?
Our heavy duty skidding system can handle cargo up to 2,600 tons, while our light duty system handles loads up to 250 tons.
How does jacking differ from skidding?
Jacking refers to vertically raising or lowering equipment using hydraulic jacks, while skidding refers to horizontal movement along a track. The two are often combined for complete positioning of heavy cargo, and may be paired with load testing to verify weight distribution before final placement.
